Interesting "Funny" & Thoughts on My Journal-Writing

At this point [after reading the "funny" above] you should be thinking! Vote, people! VOTE!

On a somewhat related note: For many years when I write in my journal, even in my earlier diaries, I've kind of written as if the person who will read it one day is an archaeologist many years into the future when our civilization is gone. I know that sounds weird, doesn't it? But that's really how I've thought of it. I guess, I felt like I had to write to someone so I wrote to those people.

My Duct Tape Creations!!!

Here are some wallets I made with duct tape. If you decide that you would like me to make you one [assuming that I know you], I'll make you one for $3 and personalize for you! [Right now, I have the colors black, yellow, bright pink, blue, purple, silver...I think that's it. If you want a color that I don't have at this moment, I'll get it for you if I can find it.]

See the below examples.

I made this wallet for my cousin, Joshua. I was told he liked the color yellow. The star was difficult to cut out but I managed somehow. :)

...and here's the inside view, complete with two pockets for your cards

This one I made for my cousin, Amanda.

I made this wallet for my cousin, Jordan [he loves cars]

E-mail me if you like what you see and would like one along with what you'd like it to look like.

I've made more duct tape things and will post pictures of them later.

Baby Einsteins: Not so smart after all

I found an interesting article from "Time" [my mom got it via e-mail] about T.V. and babies. Here's the link to the site Baby Einsteins: Not So Smart After All and below is some of the article. It kind of makes you think.

"The claim always seemed too good to be true: park your infant in front of a video and, in no time, he or she will be talking and getting smarter than the neighbor's kid. In the latest study on the effects of popular videos such as the 'Baby Einstein' and 'Brainy Baby' series, researchers find that these products may be doing more harm than good. And they may actually delay language development in toddlers."

"Gone with the Wind" in less than 5 minutes

This is a fun video. Yeah, that's pretty much how the movie felt to me--everyone was dying and Scarlet was the same selfish girl at the end that she was at the beginning, which was pretty depressing.

That's VEEERY interesting

For as long as I can remember, many times I'll go outside and sneeze--usually twice in a row. It's weird and I never knew what the deal was. Well, apparently, I am not the only one that does this. This phenomenon acually has a name: photic sneezing. Photic sneezing is an inherited trait and 1 in every 3 people "have" it. I learned about it when I was trying to figure out why people sneeze for a story I'm writing. I thought it might be cool if this alien race didn't sneeze so I was trying to see what caused sneezing in case it's kind of important, which now, I think it kind of is. You can learn more about sneezing and photic sneezing at these websites. It's very interesting.
