Grr!

Okay, I'm getting pretty frustrated here because I'm trying to find a cool myspace layout and it is not easy.
I wanted to find a layout with a cool quote. Unfortunately, pretty much all of the layouts are about dating--the layouts have stuff like "you know you're my everything"/"me and you everlasting", stuff about the heart break after dating, or stuff that's just innapropriate! It's retarded.
I'm seeing a pattern, though, in these layouts--don't know if anyone else is seeing it: a boy and girl meet and fall in "like" and after a while one of them breaks up with the other and someone is heartbroken!
The layouts are either "oh, I'm so in love and happy! he's the greatest guy ever and we'll love each other forever!" or "oh, my life is about to end because he broke my heart!"/"I hate you because you broke my heart!"
Yeah, this DEFINITELY makes me want to date. [Just in case you didn't catch that--that was sarcasm.]
I think these people are in denial. It's like, they meet someone and think it will last forever [even though the last 5 guys or girls didn't last] and then are shocked and bewildered when the other person breaks their heart [or they break that person's heart].
You know, I used to want to date but now I understand why I don't date and am glad I don't date [though I do long for a "special someone" at times].
It makes me sad that all these people are wasting their time with all these people they most likely will never marry! And to see how hurt they are each time they "break up".
Dating is painFUL and pointLESS.
Someday my prince WILL come.
[I just hope I'm ready when he arrives.]
(I just read over that post--hope I didn't sound bitter or anything. I'm just thinking there's so much stuff out there that just doesn't make sense and it's frustrating!)

Craziness...

I guess my mind is on marriage right now...

Well, I just got off the phone not too long ago with my good friend, Allie in Nebraska! I got to tell her stuff and she told me stuff, specifically about how her older sister, Cierra is dating a guy and it's pretty serious [the guy wants to marry her]. That made me start thinking. So many friends [at least definitely more than before] are getting married, are married now, or are, at least, seriously dating. [Okay, maybe it's not a lot of people but they're friends of mine and they're...ahhhhhhhhh!] It feels weird. Like...I'm growing up, I guess and so is everyone around me, which is true but it still feels WEIRD!

Patti's brother is married.

Cierra's in a serious relationship.

I mean, this is just WEIRD! I met both Allie and Patti at the same time [in the girls' program at our church] when we were all 10/11 years old. I've known their siblings for almost or as long as I've known them and now...geez.

It's just not right I tell you! Just not right!

Anyways...

Oh, on another note, thanks everyone [Mom, John, Spencer, Melissa, and Sprite!] for commenting on my blog from time to time! Comments really do make me happy [I smile when I see that I have another one]. You guys are WONDERFUL! =) [Hey, you guys should get blogs. Then I could reply to your comments WITH COMMENTS! Mwahahahaha! 'Twould be grand funness...]
<--Woohoo! LOL

I'd also like to thank everyone for voting on the poll. Hopefully, I'll put another one up later [one that you might be more interested in]. Please only vote once. [And when I say "short" hair, I mean the hair I have now or shorter and "long" is how long I had it last summer--when I was volunteering at the library.]

Dating/Courting/Etc.

Warning! Guys/men/boys, if you read this you may be extremely bored and never read my posts again so...you don't have to read this if you don't want to as with all the other posts. Anyway..

I found this on a quote when I was looking for a layout.

“If you want to see a rainbow,
You must go through the rain.
If you want true love,
You must go through the pain.”

What a sad thing to say! Is that what everyone who dates thinks? They sure do go through pain! I have wished from time to time that I could date but even more I’ve been glad that I don’t date because of the awful things I see people go through and do to each other.

Once on the way to a drama outreach, this girl sat in the van with us, called her boyfriend [for all to hear] and broke up with him right then and there. [That was after telling her friends how weird he had been acting—I heard it all even though she’s not my friend.] Then she proceeded to pass the phone around to everyone [except me, of course] and let them talk to him! Geez! This one boy said that the guy she’d broken up with was crying.

Now that I think back on that, I should have asked for her cell phone and said, “She doesn’t deserve you.” What she did was AWFUL! I don’t know if/that he’d done anything to deserve that but geez! That was so mean!

But even the normal break-ups are painful.

The steps of the cycle to me seems to be [tell me if I missed something]:

1. Boy meets girl.

2. Boy asks girl out [or even vice versa these days].

3. Boy and girl are extremely happy to be together and show off how they “love” each other by showering the other with affection. They talk on the phone all the time.

4. Then boy or girl becomes unhappy with relationship for some reason [maybe they’re bored or usually some other petty/shallow reason].

5. Boy/girl break up leaving, at least, one with a broken heart.

6. [Repeat cycle with another boy or girl after maybe or maybe not waiting a while.]

And some start this cycle at 13 years or younger! It sounds so sad.
You must be wondering, “If you don’t date—how are you going to find Mr. Right?” I shall answer that for you as best as I can. When I’m 18 [maybe I can convince my parents at 17—or not, I don’t know] I will start taking applications—no, I’m just kidding!

What my parents want for me [which sounds good to me] is for me to meet and become friends with a guy. [That way I can get to know him in group activities so I know what he’s really like.] Then if we think/know [IDK] that we love each other I’m pretty sure that’s when he asks to start dating/courting/whatevering me. We start going over to each other’s family’s houses for dinner and having activities with the other families.

I think it would be fun to drink out of the same cup [see above]. I wonder if it's as cool as it looks on t.v./movies? Anyways...

I’m kind of afraid what my Dad’s going to do to my guy but I don’t know because I’ve never dated [maybe there is a downside to not dating—you don’t know how your Dad’s going to fry your guy when he comes over]. I understand that my Dad wants the best for me and wants to protect me; I am just NOT sure what to expect. He says he’ll be nice but then he’ll start teasing me about things he’s going to do so…I don’t know.

After time goes by and my guy and I get to know each other better, then if we decide that we’re meant for each other and all that, I guess he’ll propose and we’ll get married. I'll get to finally kiss the guy and it shall be loverly...

Wow…I am NOT ready to get married. I’ll be 17 this October! AHHHHH! Then the next year, 18! AHHHH! I have to get ready just in case the guy shows up the day I turn 18 [LOL]! I’m a little frightened. Okay, I need to start working on my wifing skills [I made that word up all by myself]. Maybe I should learn how to cook more than just blond brownies and grilled cheese sandwiches…hmm…Probably a good idea…Okay, I’m in trouble.

I need to get busy!

P.S.
Here's an interesting quote:

Dating just to have fun is like drinking just to get drunk. Someone always gets hurt in the end and when you look back there's never anything good you can remember.

(c) Eric Gorenflo

P.S.P.S. Quiz I took...

You're Almost Ready to Get Married, But Not Quite

No doubt that you've warmed up to the idea of marriage and life long love
You just aren't quite ready to follow up with your desires, yet.
You may be a bit young, or a bit commitment phobic... give it time.

Just a thought

I've realized that my husband is going to have to do/be at least 2 things:

1. Able and willing to kill bugs for me. =)
2. Able and willing to lead instead of follow me.
Well, anyway, that's all I had to say...Is anybody else making a wishlist? LOL
