How Acting & Writing are Very Much Alike

In both acting and writing [fiction]you have to play pretend. "What if..." You 'put yourself in someone else's shoes'. In both instances--writing and acting--you can do it badly. Whether you are writing about a guy named Indiana Jones or whether you are playing him in a movie, you have to think about how he would react in a certain situation. The difference in writing and acting, though, is that when you are writing about a certain character, you are trying to create a believable character and when you are acting you are trying to believably portray that character.
