Ruined!

No, I'm not saying I'm ruined.

I wanted to talk to you about things that have been ruined for you [and me].

I mean...like say you know someone named Sam. Sam is a perfectly good name but what if the person whose name is Sam is someone you grow to despise? Now, you might not like the name Sam because when you think "Sam" it's not just a word anymore, it's an image--a bad image.

That's what I mean. There are a couple names that are okay names that I might have considered liking and using in stories or using to name my children but now I probably wouldn't [unless it's a bad character ;) ]. All because that PERSON that I didn't/don't like has that name!

It seems kind of silly but it's true!

For me, it's not just names, it's songs or icons or whatever that makes me think of a certain person. Now, when I hear/see them, I don't like them anymore.

Am I the only one like this?

On a different note...

Last night I dreamed I was in the top 4 on American Idol. I was friends with Jason Castro [interesting...] and the other two people were these girls Nichole and Brooklyn that I know from the girls group at my church. It was...quite odd.

We were about to go on the elimination show. I had longer hair [maybe mid-neck] and the chunks of hair around my face were bleached white. I was talking to Jason about getting them dyed red like Gina Glocksen's. I was very excited [giddy, in fact] about going on T.V. [If you know me, you've probably seen me in "giddy" mode.] Even though we were all in the final 4, before the show we were sitting in the audience. Then [or before that--I'm not sure] I was wearing a black dress [weird that I remember that, huh?] and walking on the floor in front of the stage and telling Jason I should have worn my sneakers instead of hose and heels because that would be cool. ???
Anyways, it was a strange dream...

I've seen "Becoming Jane"

Remember how I talked about wanting to watch "Becoming Jane"? [Click here to refresh your memory.]

Well, I don't recommend watching it at ALL. There was some definite inappropriateness [at the beginning mostly, I think]

Going into it, like I said, I knew the ending wouldn't be a wonderful happy ending but I still watched it. I knew I was asking for disappointment with regards to Jane Austen's relationship with Lefroy [played by the dashing James McAvoy]. Watching Becoming Jane gave me that dread in the pit of my stomach like other times when you know something bad is going to happen but hope against hope for good to happen instead. In the end, the bad thing happens anyway.

Okay, well, that's pretty much it. Here are the good things about the movie [besides the bits of humor that were sprinkled in]: James McAvoy is cute and I loved the costumes!

So...I don't recommend the movie at all. The new Pride & Prejudice is better--no inappropriateness that I can recall AND it had a happy ending [what a concept].

Yep, another dream...

Just got up a few minutes ago.

I had a dream that I was going to try out for a job at a nice office. I was sitting in line with some people when I realized I'd forgotten my resume. I said that aloud and the guy next to me [yes, there was a small line of people trying to get a job here] said it was okay because then I could talk about what I've done instead it just being on a piece of paper.

Okay, blah, blah, blah...

The point is, the woman I was going to try to get a job working for was Meryl Streep [like in Devil Wears Prada]!!! [Only, strangely, I don't think the office had anything to do with fashion.]

AHHHH!

Not sure exactly why I was having a dream that involved Meryle Streep but...I did.
There was more to that dream [not sure if I got the job but I think I was wearing a robe to the interview...huh] but don't think it's interesting enough for you to want to hear, or read, about it.

What's my Hidden Talent?

I'm working on my Nebraska pix post. Here's something to tide you over until I get it done--that is, if you need tiding over...

Your Hidden Talent

You are both very knowledgeable and creative.
You tend to be full of new ideas and potential - big potential.
Ideas like yours could change the world, if you build them.
As long as you don't stop working on your dreams, you'll get there.

A weird dream [but aren't all dreams weird?]

Yeah, I know you're shocked that I had another dream. This on I had a while back.

In my dream I was kind of hanging around with Adam Brody [from the "O.C." show--I've never seen a single episode, only commercials]. I'd hardly ever thought about this guy until I had this dream. Okay, so moving on...he asked me why I had never watched the "O.C.". I felt kind of bad for not seeing it because he seemed like a nice guy. Okay...so that's pretty much it.

Isn't that weird? I'm serious, I've never seen one episode of the "O.C.". I just saw commercials. I never even really paid any attention to this guy so it's odd that HE was in my dream.

Okay, it was just a strange/weird/odd dream, okay? LOL

My Sesame Street/Dinosaur Dream from Long Ago

I dream a lot--as do we all but I remember a lot of mine [not recently, though]. Here is a dream that I had a LOOOOOOONG time ago [before I was 7 years old]. (Some background information: at this time I watched Sesame Street and LOVED dinosaurs. I "collected" dinosaur toys and would play with them all the time along with my other misc. toys.)

Well, in this dream I was on Sesame Street. Bert and Ernie were sitting on the steps by the basketball court like nothing was happening but there was actually dinosaurs stampeding down the street past them. Somehow I was there [as we always are in our dreams although we are different people throughout the dream because we are everyone in the dream] and was part of and yet watching the entire thing. People and dinosaurs were running past Bert and Ernie.

Then I was in some kind of--oh, shoot! Whats the word? oh, yes--warehouse. Everyone was hiding from the dinosaurs behind big, wooden boxes.
That's pretty much was it. But the thing that has really stuck with me about that dream since I first thought it when I awoke from it was that I wasn't frightened at all in the dream. It's weird. I knew that I should have been scared but I wasn't. I mean, in other dreams I've become terrified of lesser things [lesser being lesser than dinosaurs stampeding where everyone else was running for their lives]. I don't know if that means anything but...it'd be interesting if it did.
Okay, I know you're thinking
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting but I'm serious--don't tell me you've never had weird/funny-sounding dreams that you didn't take seriously [or were even scared of] so...yeah.
Any thoughts?

I Had A WEIRD Dream...

Last night (1/3/05) I had this dream:

My family and I went to the "candlelight and communion" thing on Christmas Eve. I was in a wheel chair because I had broken or twisted my leg or ankle or foot. Mom was very angry at me. Then a nice man who sat with the disabled guys came up to me and asked if I wanted to sit with them (I guess he didn't know that I wasn't disabled). My dad held up a sign that said something about disabled people sitting with their families. (<--?)
After the service was over I got on the highway (in my wheelchair). After a little while I fell off the highway and had to hang off of the edge of a cliff (a very rocky and jagged cliff). The ground was a long way down. Somehow the wheelchair did not fall off of me. I climbed back up and began going again. Then I fell of again (and climbed back up).
When I got home a bunch of African guys (or black fauns--I cannot remember) helped me against bad guys or something...

That's all I can remember. Weird, huh?
