Give

"...Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
-Luke 6:38

The above Bible verse is one that is often quoted at my church when talking about tithes/offerings with your finances. The verse seems to be stating a law--like a physical law. You cannot give and give and give without others giving to you as well. This doesn't mean that you should only give in order to take advantage of this law but you can know that when you give, you certainly have no reason to worry about your needs being met.
I have been thinking recently, though, it does not just mean giving of your finances. I'm sure that it refers to any sort of giving. You can give of your time, your prayers, your belongings, etc. And it does not only mean giving to the church, though that is important.
So give, people! :)

Here are a few slices of cheesecake for you (and me):
Psalm 37:4-8

Delight yourself in the LORD
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when men succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.
Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
do not fret—it leads only to evil.

Psalm 86:11

Teach me your way, O LORD,
and I will walk in your truth;
give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name.
