A Lovely Rant

Okay, so Thursday I went to the grocery store with my mom while Hannah was in gymnastics. I wanted to get a new battery for my watch (I was tired of it always being 6:15) so my mom had me go up to the jewelry counter to ask how much it would be to get the new battery.

I hand the lady my watch and ask how much it will be. She then turns around and starts talking to the other ladies while she's tinkering with my watch. After a moment or so, I realize that she's probably fixing it instead of finding out the price. So I said, "So how much is it going to be?"

She turns around with the watch and says, "It's almost done. Oh. You wanted to know how much?"

YES! GRRR...

Well, she told me the price and it wasn't much so I figured mom wouldn't mind--it was too late anyway.

I assumed we'd be able to pay for the battery up front but then realized I was wrong. "Can I pay for it up front?"

She said something, which basically meant, "No."

I didn't have any money with me and Mom was somewhere in the amenities section so I said, "How about I leave this with you? I have to get some money from my mom."

She looked at me kind of strangely but said, "Okay."

So I rush over to my mom and told her what was going on. Instead of cash, she gave me her debit card to use.

So...I go back to the jewelry counter and give the lady the debit card. When she prints out the receipt, I sign for Mom.

The lady said, "Signing your mama's name..." with a nice smile on her face that made me want to punch her. I knew what she meant--even with that smile.

I said, "She's right over there."

It was really stupid that she even said anything about me using my mom's debit card to buy a $4 and some change watch battery! I mean, if I was going to use my mom's card to actually buy something without her knowing, do you think I'd buy a $4 item? Lady, I wouldn't be talking to you! I'd be in the electronics section! I mean, seriously! GR!

Besides, if the lady had just told me how much it was like I asked her to in the first place, I could have brought my mom back later and she could have paid herself!

GRRR!!!

Well, I'm glad I got that out of my system...

Grr! That's really annoying. I hate it when things like that happen! You were not doing anything bad, but someone treats you like the scum of the earth!

On a happy note, I like your header! Picnik ROCKS, doesn't it? :)
