Interesting Words


These are some words that I thought were interesting and that you might thing are interesting--if you're into words. If you're a writer or anything, theses words might be helpful.



Subreption : a deliberate misrepresentation; also : an inference drawn from it



Buttress : something that supports or strengthens



Umbra : 1: a shaded area 2 a: a conical shadow excluding all light from a given source; specifically : the conical part of the shadow of a celestial body excluding all light from the primary source b: the central dark part of a sunspot



Flaccid : 1 a: not firm or stiff; also : lacking normal or youthful firmness bof a plant part : deficient in turgor2: lacking vigor or force



Ophidian : of, relating to, or resembling snakes



Decorous (DECK-er-us): marked by propriety and good taste : correct

I don't know if I thing these words are interesting, but I do think that they are interesting.

Wow, the only words from this list that I knew were umbra and decorous.

Speaking of decorous, I like the defenition you gave much better than my vocab book, it said, "characterized by outward conformity to the recognized standard of propriety and good taste in manners, behavior, etc." I always feel like I'm gasping for breath every time I finish reading it.
