Everyone else is blogging about the ice storm so I might as well. LOL
I have a new sense of appreciation for heat and light! Monday afternoon [around 5pm] was when our power went out and we got it back on Thursday around 7:00 pm.

That first night wasn't very fun. It was very chilly and dark. We did have candles and some oil lamps/lanterns/whatever but we were bored. We have a gas heater in the garage so we opened the garage door that leads into the house, hoping that it would help to keep our house from getting too cold. We also used the heater to cook some cans of soup on. It tasted pretty good. :)
We were definitely bundled up that night and the next day [Tuesday]. Tuesday, though, mom and dad stood in a long line [for several hours] to get a generator. That night we went to bed quite warm and comfortable! *happiness* LOL The generator was so nice to have! We had heat AND lights even if we were limited on what lights we could turn on [you had to plug what electrical things you wanted into cords]. We were also able to cook stuff in the toaster oven!
We went wild and crazy on Wednesday and watched T.V. YAY!!!
Then, of course, the power went back on on Thursday.
Below is a picture of what our neighborhood DIDN'T look like after the ice storm. LOL
