Writer's Bloc

I joined this writer's group at church and a couple nights ago I went to its first meeting. It was very interesting. It was a bunch of very interesting characters...somewhat laughable now that I think about it now. =D
I got a ride to the meeting with a friend of mine [Mrs. Dagny] who, of course, is a writer like me. [We met through Regals.] We both write fantasy [she more of a children's writer, though]. I really like talking to her and spending time with her. She really inspires me [and I know that word is so cliche but I have to use it anyway]. The only problem is that the only time I get to see her is at Regals [and only if I talk to her before or after because we work in two different rooms] so I am really excited about this writer's group--if for nothing else because I get to see her.
Anyways, about the meeting. Mrs. Dagny and I arrived about an hour early because she was helping set up. Since I was there I helped, too. It was Mrs. Dagny, the lady in charge of the group, another lady [I think a friend of the leader-lady], and myself setting up for the meeting in the clubhouse [by our church].
The leader of this group, when I looked at her, I KNEW she was a writer. I mean, just by the way she looked and acted, I could tell. I met a lot of interesting people that night.

I was told that 25-30 people had signed up. About 16 people showed up--all women/girls except for one elderly man who showed up [and he left after a while without a word of good-bye]. Almost everyone was a black woman. I was kind of disappointed because practically everyone there wrote non-fiction [fantasy is fiction] books. [There were some poets and people who wanted to write scripts. There was this one lady who wants to write a devotional.] It was Mrs. Dagny, myself, and another lady who wrote fiction [specifically fantasy/sci-fi] out of the 16 who showed up. Hopefully more fiction writers will show up next time and if/when they do I think our group should be split up into fiction and non-fiction writers [like maybe we could get together as one group sometimes and split off into the 2 groups other times]. I don't know...
Everyone was very excited about this group. Near the end of the meeting, I wasn't that excited because I had a headache and was extremely uncomfortable sitting in a fold-up chair--I need a butterfly chair [they're comfy]. Everyone seemed to want to keep going to the clubhouse as opposed to going to someone's house. =(

I think I've made a new friend. Her name is Jullane ["juh-lahn"] and she wants to write movies. We have a lot in common [both like LOTR, both like to act, both like music, etc.] and exchanged info. I hope we become good friends. [I haven't made any new friends in a while...hm.]
Anyways, I'm optimistic about this writer's group but think it needs some work.
I'm going to try and bring C.S. Lewis' book [from the library] "The Great Divorce" or, at least, get a quote from it to the next meeting--it's for our assignment.
As I rode home with Mrs. Dagny, we talked and I really enjoyed that.
It was a good day. :)
