Rachel, Leah, and Jacob

[The picture below has nothing to do with this post. It's of Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) from the X-Men movies.]
I have been reading the book of Genesis for a while now and I have found it to be very intriguing--they did a lot of crazy stuff back in the Bible! It's kind of scary. Well, anyways, I got to the part when Jacob works for Laban for seven years so he can marry Laban's daughter Rachel. Laban deceives Jacob and actually gives him Leah, the more plain of his two daughters. Jacob gets mad and Laban then gives Jacob the daughter to marry that Jacob wanted in the first place but after they marry he has to work for Laban seven more years--what a rip-off! Then we have Jacob married to both the pretty sister that he loves and the not-quite-as-pretty-sister whom he does not love. How sad! Then in the Bible it reads [in the New King James version],
'When the LORD saw that Leah was unloved, He opened her womb...So Leah conceived and bore a son... '
After I read this part of the Bible [ending with the part where Rachel dies], I decided to write a fictional story heavily based upon that account. I mean, can you imagine, being the plain sister--or even the pretty sister and being married to the same man when he only loves one of you? I'm sure that your relationship with your sister would be very strained. There are several options of how the sisters felt toward each other before and after they were married to Jacob. Here are a couple of them:
Rachel
1.) Rachel always felt guilty about being prettier than her sister and when they were both married, she felt even worse.
2.) Rachel felt a bit proud, when it came to her looks and overlooked her sister's hurt feelings.
3.) Rachel always felt guilty about being the "pretty one" but after they were married, she decided that it wasn't her fault and she shouldn't have to feel guilty about it.
Leah
1.) Leah hated [of course] being the plain sister and had a sad temperement and didn't have much self-esteem
2.) Leah hated being the "plain one" but realized that she couldn't do anything about it and that she had other good qualities.[Doesn't have to be true-->]Once they married, though, she became sad or bitter.
3.) Leah hated being the plain one and over time became bitter, despising her sister more and more everytime she looked at her--this problem becoming bigger when they married Jacob.
Any thoughts? I want to know which ones you think would be more likely.
