The End Has Come

Yes. The end has come for that wonderful, brilliant, spectacular production that I was in--Tom Sawyer. I mourn--as do we all.

I cried as I left (and quite a while before, I might add) and received many needed embraces on that last day. This truly has been the best cast that I have been a part of. We were so good that for the entire second weekend that the show played the playhouse was sold-out (except for Thursday, because of the snow). Now when I sing the songs, they sound (and I feel) so sad. We had a great cast party the second Saturday night after the show. Close to the end Taylor went to the keyboard and started playing songs--most of which I did not know but it was cool anyway--it was a moment right out of a movie (we should have put our arms around each other and started swaying). It was awesome. <--I think very cinematically sometimes. Hopefully, we will all see each other again--the director told me that when the dvd comes out (it was filmed on Thursday night) she is going to invite us all to her house to watch it.
Well, it has been a long time since we--I mean, I (what am I now--Gollum?)--posted. My grandparents came all the way from Indiana to come see me in the play. Afterwards, we went to Braum's (mm-mm!) and had ice cream to celebrate (I had two scoops of egg nog ice cream in a pointed cone because I love egg nog).
After the last performance and cleaning up/striking the set (well, I had to leave kind of early) I went home and opened presents with my grandparents. It was kind of weird though. On the way home I was crying and then when I got there I was supposed to be happy. I got over it, though (not that I wasn't still inwardly sad). I got great gifts. I got this suitcase-type thing that when I opened it there was a mirror with light bulbs down either side of it and lots and lots of make-up. I also got the Spider-Man 2 DVD (with a bonus disk!), the Lord of the Rings: making of the movie trilogy book, an Italian charm bracelet watch that had a lavender face, and lots of other cool stuff.
Well, I ought to go. Bye!
