Salvete, amici!
Lately I have been doing some research on the Brothers Grimm, which has been interesting, and have been reading the fairy tales which they collected/wrote (all 729 pages of them). It has been very interesting. After reading them (I finished a couple of days ago) I decided to rewrite the story, King Thrushbeard (read the story at http://www.pitt.edu/~dash/grimm052.html ), which I thought was a really good story. I'm hoping to add some new things but keep the same elements and even put in some of the actual sentences from the story. I will probably change the nickname the king has from "Thrushbeard" to something like (insert name for a kind of tree that is twisted)-chin. Well, enough about that.
I have just begun to read a book called The Moon is Down by John Steinbeck. I'm reading it for our homeschool group's high school book discussion. So far it is a very good book. Back during World War II it was used as propaganda. People in the countries that were occupied by the Nazis felt that Steinbeck knew exactly how they felt living in an occupied country. So far, so good.
Well, I better go. Bye!
Sincerely,
Cat
